Charlotte Strength

Charlotte Strength is a highly acclaimed weightlifting and functional fitness facility situated in the vibrant NoDa District of Charlotte, North Carolina. Recognized both nationally and internationally, Charlotte Strength has cultivated a reputation for excellence in the fitness community. I joined Charlotte Strength in late 2020 to pursue my passion for recreational weightlifting. During my time there, I built a collaborative relationship with Sean Rigsby, owner, and distinguished international-level coach for USA Weightlifting. Together, we embarked on an exciting project to enhance the facility's environment through the design of various murals, aesthetic improvements, and the creation of a community football field tailored for over 200 members. This collaborative effort not only enriched the facility's atmosphere but also fostered a sense of community among members, blending art and fitness into a cohesive and inspiring space.

"When opening my new bakery location I knew we wanted it to have something that portrayed what the style of the bakery was while having a part of my background and story. Justin reached out to me and offered the idea of a small mural on one of the walls and after speaking to him about my story he ran with it and did a fantastic job! Justin is talented, meticulous, and an overall great person. The next time I need any sort of mural or artwork I will definitely be reaching out to Justin again!" Matt Cabana, Owner, Accidental Baker

The Accidental Baker

As Matt Cabana would say "Former tennis professional and corporate stiff turned passionate baker spreading joy through gluten free treats as well as sourdough. " I began following Matt while he began as a start-up in a local pop. Quickly, I began to see the joy his personality brought to his community. Having worked with various start-ups, I reached out to him and asked if he was opened a space of his own. He said would be expanding into a bakery and we quickly came up with a plan to make his space feel the home while he worked. Simple, clean, and fun The Accidental Baker became a mural we made up one afternoon while he described his favor creations in his bakery. Having paid homage to his Italian heritage we quickly literally crash a Vespa into a gluten free bakery sign.

“The Arts+ community mural was created by over 200 children, each contributing their own splatter of paint. The result is a vibrant work that balances chaos and structure, but ultimately serves as a reminder to embrace individuality and be yourself.”
